The site of Ashqelon Barne‘a is part of a much larger Early Bronze Age I site that extends from the tell in the south, includes the marina and the Afridar neighborhood of the modern city of Ashqelon, and now reaches the northern neighborhood known as Barne‘a B–C (Fig. 1.1; see p.6).
